Back in October when PopWrap revealed what songs would be featured on “Glee: The Music Volume 2,” I hoped that the show would opt for Jennifer Paige’s version of “Crush” instead of David Archuleta’s. And I should have guessed that would draw the ire of Archie’s fans — which it did. Here’s one example of an angry emails I received:
“I am disappointed that Mr. Wieselman is pulling for Jennifer Paige’s “Crush” song instead of David Archuleta’s “Crush” which is so much better and has sold over 1.5 million copies. I suspect that Mr. Wieselman, like many others, just don’t want to give Mr. Archuleta a chance, even though his voice is undoubtedly one of the best in the business today.”
For the record, I never said David’s would be a terrible choice, I just wanted for the early 90s hit to get a modern update since I wore out that cassette tape back in the day. And with “Ballads,” the episode in which the song in question appears airing tomorrow, I’m happy to announce that I chose the right side!
Lea Michele’s rendition of “Crush” is in fact a cover of Jennifer, not David’s, song! Oh, and it’s faaaaaabulous! Check it out!
The other songs featured in tomorrow night’s episode:
“Endless Love” performed by Matthew Morrison (Mr. Shue) and Lea Michele (Rachel).
“I’ll Stand By You” performed awesomely by Cory Monteith (Finn).
“Don’t Stand So Close To Me” and “Young Girl” mash-up performed by Matthew.
“(You’re) Having My Baby”performed by Cory.
Which song is your favorite?
