Being married means having to put in more work — and not just on your communication skills.
Speaking to PEOPLE at the Clive Davis Pre-Grammy Gala red carpet on Saturday, Faith Evans and husband Stevie J opened up about how married life had changed their relationship.
"I got to put in more work, know what I'm saying? I upped it from three to five times a day," Stevie, a famed producer and Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star, tells PEOPLE, making a suggestive comment about their sex life.
"I knew he was going to go there with it," adds Evans. "I already knew."
The couple — who each have a Grammy Award under their belts — tied the knot over the summer.
Evans, who has been nominated eight times, won in 1997 for her and Puff Daddy's ode to the late Biggie Smalls, "I'll Be Missing You," a song which Stevie produced. That same year, the producer took home a Grammy for his work on Puff Daddy's first album No Way Out, on which "I'll Be Missing You" appears.

However, even though Evans and Stevie have several months of marriage under their belt, the couple didn't get their wedding bands until recently.
"We actually just got rings and they're very simple," Evans tells PEOPLE. "We didn't have rings until last week."
"Week before last week, actually," Stevie adds.

According to TMZ, the couple said "I do" in their Las Vegas hotel room last July, surrounded by family and friends after applying for their marriage license in Clark County.
"I love you Faith Renee Jordan," he later wrote on Twitter, as the singer replied back, "I love you back Steven Aaron Jordan," using his full name.
Before their brief split in 2017, Stevie confirmed his relationship with Faith in December 2016 during an appearance on The Breakfast Club radio show.
"I've known her for like 25 years," he said. "We was like family and then as years progressed, we just began to hang out more [and] talk more."
Though Stevie was previously linked to and had a child with ex-girlfriend Joseline Hernandez, this marks his first marriage. Faith was previously married two other times — to Notorious B.I.G. and Todd Russaw, whom she divorced in 2011.
